This morning Sophia got up from eating breakfast came and sat on my lap and said, “Mommy I want to tell you a story.” She continued on to tell me the whole Easter story of Jesus from the parade to death on the cross to the Angels at the tomb to going to Heaven. It made my heart smile. These little ones really are listening and absorbing everything we tell them.
I am so proud to be a part of our Church...

While I was initially nervous about teaching Sunday School classes, I have come to really enjoy them.  I have learned that you don't need to be an expert on the teachings of Jesus to be a teacher or a shepherd.  The church staff does a wonderful job of giving us all of the tools, support and guidance we need.  Being in the Sunday school classroom is a wonderful opportunity to see God (and the Bible) through the eyes of children.  Just this past weekend, our lesson was on the Lord's Prayer. ...

This year, our 3rd graders have been meeting during church school on the 4th Sunday of each month for BIBLE DISCOVERY. They received their 3rd Grade Bibles as a part of Children’s Sabbath in early November. This has been a delightful class. Here’s a pearl of a story from this winter:

Several weeks ago I taught the Godly play Epiphany lesson to the 3 year old to preK class at Lake Brandt. We started by reviewing the images of the prophets, the Holy Family and the shepherds and then started experiencing the feel of (imaginary) gold and the scents of Frankincense and Myrrh. The children (and actually the 2 of us adults in the room as well) were mesmerized by the scents of royalty (Frankincense) and burial (Myrrh). Even in our modern world that is so distant from Jesus’ time...
