 One Great Day of Service and Fall Kick-Off – Sunday September 24, 2017

One Great Day of Service Mission Statement:

The mission of One Great Day of Service is to provide opportunities to go beyond our walls and be God’s light in our community through service.  We hope to foster long-term relationships by introducing our congregation to local agencies and to bring our community of faith together through fellowship.   


One Great Day of Service and Fall Kick-Off - Sunday September 24, 2017

A sack lunch will be provided for all OGD participants including birth – Pre-K kids in childcare.

10:30 am or 12:00 pm - Meet Project Leader and Team in the Friendly Ave. Fellowship Hall, pick up lunch, directions, and depart for project

12:00 pm – Drop off children ages birth – Pre-K in appropriate room for OGD childcare

3:00 pm or before – Pick up children at WPC following project completion

3:00 – 5:00 pm – Fall Kick-Off - After the service projects, come out for a great evening of entertainment, fellowship, food and fun at the Friendly Avenue Campus.  We’ll have a cake walk and Pelican’s Frozen Snoballs.  There will be inflatable fun and games for every age.  

At 4:00 pm our Worship Band will provide live music.  Bring the family – and a chair or blanket.


Westminster T-shirts

Westminster T-shirts will be available for purchase at the information tables during fellowship time or in the church office.  Please wear a new or well-loved Westminster T-shirt to worship on One Great Day of Service.



4        Ways to register for a project:

  • Through the church website:  Sign up here! Please help by registering online if possible.
  • Complete a paper registration form for all participants.  Please list three project choices.  Return forms in the offering plate or church office by Sunday September 17.
  • During Fellowship Time on Sunday mornings September 3, 10 and 17.
  • Walk-in registration Sunday, September 24 - Friendly Avenue Fellowship Hall at 10:30 am or 12:00 pm

Your Project Leader should contact you with details the week of September 18.  For more information, please contact Ann Comfort in the church office at 336-299-3785 or


Children and Youth

Children grades K – 12 will participate in projects with their families or a responsible adult.  Please note the appropriate age range listed for each project.  All children age 14 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult. 

For ages birth through Pre-K, childcare will be provided at the Friendly Avenue campus from 12:00 – 3:00 pm.  Please provide and feed your children lunch before departing for your project.  Sack lunches will be available in Fellowship Hall.  Registration required for OGD Childcare by Sunday, September 17 for all children ages birth – Pre-K.
