For the third year, the youth of Westminster participated in the 30 Hour Famine, March 5 and 6th. As a lead up to the Famine, the youth engaged in the 30 Day Famine Challenge with daily devotions focusing on hunger in our community and world and special Sunday School classes. The youth provided bags-to-go lunches for the men at the winter overflow shelter at First Presbyterian Church for five Mondays during the Challenge and Famine. More than 50 youth and adults supported nine area service projects during their 30 hours. Also, the youth collected 3,212 pounds of food for the Greensboro Urban Ministry food pantry, surpassing last year's collection of 2,403 pounds and $2,483 was collected for hunger causes. Click here for this year’s 30 Day Famine Challenge Devotional Guide that can be used by our youth and their families to educate them to the needs of the hungry and impoverished in the world.
Get involved. The Youth don't just study the needs of the world. They don't just talk-the-talk, they are a hands-on, mission-oriented group.
