CROP Walk

Sunday, October 17, 2010

The Greater Greensboro CROP Hunger Walk is an annual 5K community walk that raises needed funds to feed the hungry not only in Greensboro, but all over the world. Last year 25% of the money raised went to Greensboro Urban Ministy's Potter's House Community Kitchen that provides a free, well-balanced, nutirtious meal to an average of 350 people every day. Since 1981, the Greensboro CROP Hunger Walk has raised a cumulative total of $4 million with more than $957,000 going to Potter's House.

Seventy-five percent of funds raised go to the Church World Service, an international relief agency that provides emergency aid and supports sustainable self-help development.

The walk begins at Newbridge Bank Park with registration at 1:30 pm. The walk begins at 2:30 pm. For information, call Diane Campbell at 299-3785, ext. 114.
