Mobile Meals DeliveryOne of the great service traditions of Westminster is the Mobile Meals ministry. Begun in 1970, the Mobile Meals organization ensures that homebound seniors receive a hot meal and interaction with the outside world five mornings a week. The visits also allow for elderly individuals to be checked on regularly, as many of them have no immediate family to do so. Members of Westminster deliver lunch the first Wednesday of each month to as many as twenty seniors. During the past year, the Mobile Meals program served 103,753 meals to 721 homebound seniors. Without this critical program many of these seniors would not be able to continue living at home. For more information contact Laverne Tullock at 375-0836 or Diane Campbell in the church office (299-3785 ext. 114) or email her at Diane.Cambpell@westpreschurch.org or visit the Senior Resources of Guilford's Mobile Meals web site.
