The Lord will keep you from all harm-he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and your going
both now and forevermore
Psalm 121 vs 7,8 (NIV)
God is our protector in life. He does not want harm to come to us. He will watch over us. We do not have to go through hard times or challenges alone. This is WONDER- FULL news!! This was especially meaningful when my husband, Barry, had a cancer diagnosis in June 2016. During the 6 1/2 years of treatments, doctor’s appointments, scans, etc, we both knew that God was journeying with us. We saw signs of His presence everywhere. Early morning drives to UNC Chapel Hill Cancer Hospital, we saw beautiful sunrises that only God could make. Some of the longer days, we also saw sunsets. An amazing realization that God was watching over us. The wonder of these sights!!
Knowing that God had our backs during this challenging time in our life, allowed us to stay positive. We developed a deeper relationship with Him. Our eyes were open to see the many blessing and wonders that surrounded us: the wonder of family and friends lending a helping hand, the wonder of amazing doctors, the wonder of the nurses smiles, the wonder of healthy times during this battle, the wonder of peace we felt knowing that God was with us. Each day is a gift from God and we became much more appreciative of each new day.
Prayer: Most holy God, we come before you in wonder of You for the many ways you shine your light down upon us, especially in difficult times. Help us to continue to lean into your wondrous promise to always watch over us. We are grateful for your presence in our lives for you are our rock and our redeemer. I praise You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
